INDIGENOUS EXISTENTIAL RESISTANCE This course was designed in partnership with elders from the Kainai Aboriginal community. The original idea for stems from a vision, request and invitation from these elders. The program combines lectures and seminars at UBC in Vancouver and a ten-day visit to the Kainai reserve in Alberta, which includes a four-day observation of a Sundance ceremony. Drawing from a variety of readings, group discussion and hands-on learning experiences, we will explore the practical aspects of teaching foods, as well as contemporary themes, including how to infuse an ecological perspective into our pedagogy.
