ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – PHARMACY EDUCATION (Assessment and Program Evaluation)
Applications are invited for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Pharmacy Education – Assessment and Program Evaluation. The successful candidate must have a Doctorate in Education or related discipline with a focus on student learning and assessment. The successful candidate must establish an independent research program and provide research expertise to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning initiatives within the School. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the area of research methods and program evaluation. Teaching in the graduate program and supervision of undergraduate and graduate research students are expected. Participating in academic service is also a requirement of the position. The successful candidate will be familiar with program evaluation processes and be able to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance learning and assessment.
The School of Pharmacy is located in the Health Sciences Centre on the St. John’s campus of Memorial University. This facility also houses the Faculty of Medicine and School of Nursing, the Health Sciences Library, the General Hospital, and the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre. This integrated complex has allowed close working relationships, in both research and teaching, among the faculties of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.
The School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs. Research strengths include drug discovery and development, pharmacoepidemiology, health outcomes and inter-professional education. The School encourages collaborative research.
