POSITION TITLE: Dean of Students

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Dean of Students directs activities related to a comprehensive college-wide student services program. The Dean will coordinate all areas of responsibility to achieve the integration of all student services and academic organizations in accordance with the College’s Mission and Goals, and will develop mechanisms to ensure quality customer service to achieve student success. Under the general direction of the President, the Dean of Students provides leadership and administrative oversight for student services activities including: Student Recruitment and Retention, Registration, Orientation, Admissions and Retention, Student Government, Student Clubs, Counseling/Advising, Athletics, Disabled Students, TRIO, GED testing, and Financial Aid Programs. Directly responsible to ensure LLTC meets all the HLC recommendations /requirements in regards to Student Services. The Dean is also responsible for the fiscal management and human resource management related to student services and as such, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates student support staff to include student support staff development.
 
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred. Three-Five years of progressive / demonstrated experience in similar positions to include previous supervisory responsibilities, leadership and managerial skills, implementation and evaluation of policies and regulations, organizational management, team building, strategic planning, and organizational planning processes.
