Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)
The School of Child and Youth Care invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure track), effective or January 1, 2019, or as negotiated.
Required qualifications include:
- Doctoral degree in a related field (doctoral candidates will be considered)
- Scholarly expertise in the area of child, youth, family and community studies
- Demonstrated understanding of current issues facing Indigenous children, youth, families and communities
- Demonstrated commitment to Indigenous pedagogies and methodologies
- Professional practice experience with Indigenous children; parents/caregivers; families; and communities
- Strong record of research and scholarship evidenced by research grants received, publications, presentations and work in progress
- Evidence of effective teaching (i.e. course evaluation data, testimonials, and other forms of documentation) and competence in using diverse modalities, including: distance and distributed learning, on-campus teaching, and experiential learning
- Demonstrated commitment to addressing the impact of settler colonialism on Indigenous children, youth, families and communities and on human/social services in Canadian and/or global contexts
